Phil Parkinson: Wrexham's 'destiny in own hands' says manager

Wrexham will focus on winning their own game on Saturday and not worry about promotion rivals, says Phil Parkinson.
Second in League Two and assured of a play-off spot, Wrexham need five points from their final three games to seal automatic promotion.
Manager Parkinson's side could go up on Saturday if they beat Forest Green Rovers and results go their way.
"Our aim is to focus on the game and what we've got to do ourselves," he said.
"We can't control anything outside and our destiny is ultimately in our own hands.
"We're just preparing to play as well as we can at the weekend and see if that's good enough to get the points against a Forest Green team who are obviously fighting for their lives.
"We're going to go out and win the game and see what happens at the end. Whatever happens elsewhere we've got to go out and get the three points."
Should Wrexham win at home against League Two's bottom team and rivals MK Dons and Barrow fail to win, then promotion would be sealed.
Wrexham's bid for promotion to League One comes 12 month after they secured the National League title and a return to the EFL.
"The difference is that it was us and Notts County head to head," said Parkinson, as he reflects on last season.
"[This season] there's been many teams in the shake up, one by one fallen away a little, but there are still teams looking to get into that top three.
"So there's more to think about after the game, more results to look at.
"The lads are in a good place. We're building up to what will be a terrific atmosphere at the Racecourse."
Following Saturday's home game against Forest Green, Wrexham travel to Crewe the following Saturday before hosting current league leaders Stockport County on 27 April.
Parkinson insisted that with three games of the current season remaining, there has been no forward planning with next season in mind.
"At the moment, for myself, the focus is purely on these last few games and I'm not letting my mind drift to anything else," Parkinson added.
"We need to put all our energy into preparations.
"If we were able to get over the line and get promotion, we've got a long time to plan and build the squad strong for next year whatever division we're in."
